Kohler Highline Comfort Height Two-piece Elongated Toilet

Are you thinking about remodeling your bathroom this year? Half the fun of making home improvements is the planning and anticipation of what the end result will look like. When remodeling a bathroom, give some thought to installing a new comfort height toilet.

What is a comfort height toilet? The seat of a standard toilet 15 to 17 inches from the floor. A comfort height toilet seat is 17 to 19 inches from the floor. Believe it or not, these few extra inches can make sitting and standing much, much easier, particularly as you get older.

In fact, before buying a new toilet, you should be sure to sit on various models to see which height is most comfortable. Also consider who will be using the toilet. Have an elderly parent living with you? Then getting the comfort height toilet is a no-brainer. Let the grandchildren use another toilet in the house. Grandma deserves a higher throne!

Kohler and American Standard (as well as many others) make raised toilets, so it won’t be difficult finding one you like. You’ll be surprised how much more comfortable you’ll be with just a few extra inches of chair height.

We also recommend getting a soft-close toilet seat. Much like cabinet doors that close slowly and silently, the soft-close toilet seat is safe, quiet, and sanitary. Give it one little push and the hinge does all the rest. No more slamming toilet seats in the middle of the night!
